Grit. Angela Duckworth popularized the notion of possessing, teaching, and nurturing grit in her 2013 TED talk. Her definition of grit, as “passion and perseverance for very long-term goals”, dominated instruction and conversation at the Harvard Education School and while I was a student in 2013. How do we teach kids to be gritty? And what does grit look like on the ground?
